starters are the same in a manual as in an auto; as such, the tooth count and set up in regards to the teeth on the ring gear vs. the flywheel would have to be the same or the gears wouldn't mesh and would make a hell of a noise and chew themselves up. Of course, if the starter gears are different, then I'm leading you down the wrong path. Just find out if the starters are the same and that should give you your answer. I'm guessing there is someone online, or soon to be, that can verify the sameness or differentness of the starters. Hope that is of some help, Mark
